Financial Solutions Services Offers Free Weekly Credit Repair Workshops

Agoura Hills, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 -- Financial Solutions Services (FSS) educates people on how credit repair can save tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars or more throughout a lifetime. By conducting free weekly credit repair workshops, FSS credit expert Dr. Alan Rosenthal discusses the importance of raising FICO scores to increase credit-worthiness. The next workshops are Wednesday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 9 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the FSS office in Agoura Hills, California.

Dr. Rosenthal states, "Anyone with a credit score of 720 or below can benefit long-term from the advice and information provided through credit repair." In the workshops, Dr. Rosenthal details each of the five areas that make up a FICO score, paying special attention to what helps and what hurts a score. He will also focus on delinquencies and their various levels including missed payments, last activity date and past due notices. Dr. Rosenthal will also discuss how to maximize credit, use credit limits, debt ratios, business credit and explain why never to close credit cards. These workshops are designed to educate consumers and help them see how restoring personal credit can be a simple process.

According to the Government Accountability Office, 80-90% of credit reports have serious errors on them, not including the more minute ones. Mistakes like these can cost thousands of dollars in unnecessary interest over the length of a loan. For example, if a person has a FICO score of 620 and wants a $500,000 30-year fixed rate mortgage loan, his or her interest rate could yield up to eight percent. This would make monthly payments around $3,600. Now if this person can increase his or her FICO score 50 or 60 points, payments would decrease to about $3,200. That is $400 of savings every month and would result in a savings of approximately $155,000 over the life of the loan.
